ABOUT US

VACodes was established in Nov. 2021 as a nonprofit organization by a team of high school students who wanted to teach coding to middle and high school students in Northern Virginia. In an ever-evolving technological world, coding has become more and more important. That's why we decided to teach Virginia students the basics of Java, regardless of their future career path, as we believe that everyone should have access to learn how to code.

Hello! My name is Akhilesh Tammana and I'm a 11th Grader at Lightridge High School and the Academy of Engineering and Technology Engineering pathway at the Academies of Loudoun. As the current Co-President of VACodes and founding member, I helped start VACodes because I want to make coding and STEM resources more readily available to everyone while learning something new about coding by teaching others!

Founder

As the president of VACodes, I am excited to work with such a talented group of coders and help them make an impact on the Loudoun community. As a student of the Academies of Loudoun, I am frequently asked to use programming to solve some novel problems, and I am grateful for the opportunity to spread this knowledge to a younger audience.
